playing peripheries

Thirteen artists came together to present this group exhibition where they explored the edges of places, people and ideas. We came together in the peripheries playfully, testing liminal spaces. We asked where the body ends and where the world begins. We moved lines of division, wondering why they were laid in the first place. Together we imagined new possibilities in a variety of media.
Building upon the playful examination of the body through cyber-feminism with my virtual friend Maureen, I created two spaces for this exhibition, one being in the gallery window.

I enjoyed filling the usually capitalist space with humour and strangeness. I also enjoyed hearing the sometimes disgusted comments of some passers-by.

With the playful and surreal I invite the audience to enjoy all forms a body might take. Sculptural, artificial, wonky, toy bodies.
